It strives not just to produce healthy plants but also to grow them considerately. Now 10 years old, the company builds greenhouses equipped with the most up-to-date technologies available, for example cyclical cleaning of irrigation water with a UV filter.
It also strives to renew old operation of greenhouses and to operationalise abandoned geo-thermal drill-holes that stream hot water uncontrolled into nature. It employs 350 employees, cooperates with growers and tries to support the involvement of young people in agriculture by cooperating with the Association of Young Farmers of Slovakia.

All the company’s owners grew up at Žitný ostrov and they very much missed the taste of produce from their parents’ gardens. Thus, they founded a production organisation in 2008 called GreenCoop to return old tastes and freshness to the dining tables of Slovak consumers and households.
“We grow without spraying so our tomatoes are very safe and that is why they are so tasty and healthy,” Zsolt Bindics, chair and co-owner of GreenCoop, said.
