Green Award: JRK Waste Management (SMEs)

Most of it ends up at the waste dump – but this is unnecessary in many cases. The Bratislava-based company JRK Waste Management instructs people on how to better use waste.

“Our mission is to prevent the creation of blended waste through better separation,” Radoslav Košík, CEO of the company, opined.

One of the technologies used by his company is a composter with specially cultivated bacteria which serve for quick decomposition of food waste. Within a single day, they can decrease the volume by up to 90 percent.

JRK Waste Management also compares the contents of waste containers before and after the beginning of household composting.

Currently, the company cooperates with more than 400 municipalities and towns, for which it prepares complex solutions to prevent waste through household composting, as well as by increasing the rate of separation with innovative technologies.
