VšZP is the oldest and biggest health insurance company in Slovakia. At the beginning of 2010 it merged with Spoločná Zdravotná Poisťovňa. The combined insurer now covers more than 3.5million policyholders.

Dôvera
Dôvera is the biggest private health insurer in Slovakia, with about 1.4 million people covered by the company. At the beginning of 2010 it merged with Apollo health insurer.

Union is Slovakia’s second private health insurance company. Its sole shareholder is Dutch company Eureko B.V. It has approximately 370,000 policy holders.
