What differentiates Medissimo from other medical facilities of a similar type? Medissimo is a unique project – it is a complex with a hospital and a polyclinic. We render our clients with not just the services of doctors in outpatient units, which you can commonly find in polyclinics, but also services within hospital care, the base and 24/7 care, including on Saturdays and Sundays. Thus, they have all health care under one roof, including diagnostics, treatment, surgeries, and post-operative care, potentially also with rehabilitation. Typically, we are oriented towards experts who have good-quality experience, have asserted themselves in their field and have already achieved success in it. We are on our way to becoming a top clinic where a patient can get a quality expert who has human understanding but can also professionally handle their health issue.
First let us ask which outpatient units can patients visit?
There are general practitioners for adults, as well as for children and youths, and a wide portfolio of specialised outpatient units, for example cardiology, gynaecology, diabetology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and internal disease units. Our specific feature is a separate ward for foreign clients, where an experienced, specialised doctor, who has 12 years experience from the USA, works. But we also have imunoallergology, neurology, urology, surgery, and cardio-vascular outpatient units. Ladies will surely appreciate that they can find not only a dermatology unit, but also medical cosmetics. The right standard includes also units of ophthalmologist, orthopaedics, or otorhinolaryngologist. For a family, the product Doctor at Home, where the paediatrician treats a child at home, may be of interest. Simply, it is a complete package of health care.
And what about the hospital part, what do you offer which is special?
We have two above-standard operating rooms, a surgery or internal medicine ward, and a technologically top-equipped digital medical imaging centre. Our clients can complete all examinations in one building and, the thing which many of them appreciate most, we have no long waiting lists for crucial examinations like magnetic resonance or mammograms.
The extent of surgeries carried out is relatively wide, representing fields from classical surgery, plastic surgery, orthopaedics including joint implant surgeries, treatment with stem cells, urology, but also otorhinolaryngology for both children and adults.
The ward block in the hospital part makes a really nice impression; is it at the disposal of all clients or is it an extra?
We do care about comfort and quality; we are aware of how mental well-being is crucial for healing and so contact with family and a comfortable room is available for every client. We have no fixed visiting hours, a relative can be with the patient for any length of time. Foreign clients also use an accompaniment service, i.e. somebody is with the patient almost all the time.
What new things do you plan?
We have already started implementing some of them: we actively encourage clients to look after their health, to leave some time for a preventive health check. In October there is a campaign focused on women and, in November, one on men. We have taken part in several international projects aimed at introducing new treatment methods and also host staff exchanges, for example exchange fellowships with Germany and Austria. We are also preparing to open a dental clinic complex. We regularly monitor the load factor of our units and we also enhance the team of doctors and nurses to preserve the quality of our services.
