The German bank HypoVereinsbank Slovakia opened its first branch office in Slovakia on September 30. Located in Bratislava, the branch will serve as the bank's head office and will provide complete banking services to corporate and private clients. In the second half of the year 2000, the bank plans to start providing mortgage loans to companies, and eventually to private clients depending on the success of the programme.
HypoVereinsbank Slovakia began active banking operations in July 1996 as Hypo-Bank Slovakia.
