INDUSTRY in Slovakia ended 2003 with a pre-tax profit of Sk86.5 billion (€2.1 billion), a 34.4 percent year-on-year increase.
Sales without VAT and excise taxes went up 17.5 percent over those of 2002, reaching Sk1.18 trillion (€29.29 billion), the Economy Ministry announced. The added value reached Sk278.9 billion (€6.88 billion), up 10.2 percent from 2002. Revenues grew by 16.1 percent to Sk1.32 trillion (€32.9 billion), the private news agency SITA wrote.
