Inflation at 3.6 percent in September

CONSUMER prices in Slovakia went up by 3.6 percent year-on-year in September, according to the data presented by the Statistics Office. Compared to August 2012 they increased very slightly, by only 0.3 percent, the TASR newswire reported.

Core inflation stood at 3.1 percent in September, while net inflation amounted to 2.6 percent in the same month. The inflation rate during the first nine months of 2012 rose by 3.7 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the Slovak Statistics Office also published the inflation rate measured using the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, which reached 3.8 percent year-on-year in September, the same level as in the previous month. The average annual harmonised inflation rate for the past 12 months reached 4 percent, the Statistics Office reported on its website.
