SOCIAL security provider Sociálna poisťovňa has received more than 15,000 applications to have the fines it has issued written off, the daily SME reported.
Insurants have paid almost Sk1.1 billion (€30 million) in back payments and now want the fines pardoned. The insurer is examining their applications.
In the past not all applications were accepted. The December 2004 amnesty for debtors was the second one and probably the last. The current law does not allow any general pardons for fines.
