An American agent, a traitor, and an agent of foreign powers. These are just some of the epithets that MP Ľuboš Blaha has used to describe President Zuzana Čaputová. But as court rulings have shown, in doing so the MP infringed on the ‘personality rights of the president’.

Winner once again

In the ranking of the Largest Law Firms in the category of IP law, compiled by the Sme daily and The Slovak Spectator, last year’s winner, Havel & Partners, came top again.

Ten of the largest law firms in this category provided details for publication of one inspiring deal. Among those published, the most prominent was the already mentioned dispute between the president and Blaha. He persistently verbally attacked the head of state with defamatory and untrue statements.

The dispute went to court, where the president was represented by the law firm TaylorWessing e/n/w/c lawyers. In the end, the MP lost the dispute. The court ordered Blaha, through preliminary injunction, to refrain from publishing and spreading false or misleading statements.
