Learning is a meaningful way to combat the economic crisis. Along with the problems it brings, the crisis is a suitable period for learning because a successful start in the future will only be possible under altered conditions. MBA study is a good way to improve starting conditions for the future. Both employees and employers profit from education, because well-trained workers do more and have secure jobs. At the same time, it is very important to what degree theory is applicable in practice. One of the largest providers of distance studies to have a practice-oriented education programme is the Sales Manager Academy in Vienna.
Sales Manager Academy - Study Centre Hohe Warte
The SMA has 30 years of experience with adult education. It was established in cooperation with the Vienna University of Economics where it provided lectures in Service Management. Cooperation with the University of Economics began in 1980. Workshops were intended for management staff from the economic sector and public administration. The late 1990s brought an increase in workshops in the area of sales and marketing, leading to the establishment of the academy under the SMA brand.
Study Centre Hohe Warte was established in order to serve as a roof covering many SMA co-operations. Its network of subsidiaries and cooperating universities stretches from Hamburg to Belgrade and from Bratislava to Bozen. The SMA has a strong representation in Central and Eastern Europe, where it organizes its study programmes.
SMA and SHW mediate - a sign which keeps up with times. It is an indicator of the future of education, with the aim to mediate basics of economic and ethic sciences.
The main aim of the studies is to educate managers to a high level of factual and social competence, which they can subsequently implement in their companies and jobs. Applicants may choose from several variants included in the range of study courses, such as master’s, doctoral or MBA studies. Focus is put on international management of a company as well as on marketing or sales techniques. Because of the increasing interconnection of business with politics, we also take an interest in the high political literacy of our students, and the SMA therefore offers a programme called Public Affairs & Lobbying. Its aim is to use practical interpretation to carry students through the sphere of public politics and public administration and to point out the mechanisms and ways of negotiating and reaching goals in the complex area of the public sphere.
The MBA programme is available in the Slovak language as well and students may start at any time.
Students who complete the executive MBA programme at the SMA are given the accredited and European Union-wide recognized academic title “Master of Business Administration”, MBA, which the Sales Manager Academy confers based on its accreditation by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the Federal Republic of Austria. The MBA title is a highly effective supplement to education, enabling a future career either in private entrepreneurship or in employment as a company manager.
Today, the SMA has 1,200 active students and 600 graduates.
The highest priority is the practical application of scientific knowledge gained while studying.
Educational methods are influenced by our individual approach to our students. Renowned companies use our services in order to educate their workers because a well-educated employee is only one step away from the company’s success.
