IT services market worth $258.6 million

ACCORDING to a market analysis carried out by consulting company IDC, the Slovak information technologies (IT) services market was worth $258.6 million (Sk8.1 billion) last year, the SITA news agency reported. Thus the Slovak IT services market rose 18.5 percent year-on-year.

According to IDC, the financial sector - banks, insurance companies and financial services - invested the most into IT services with expenditures amounting to $70.6 million (€58.28 billion) and a market share of 27.3 percent.

The production sector spent $53 million (€43.75 million) on IT services last year and the governmental sector was third with a share of 14.3 percent and expenditures of $44 million (€36.32 million).

Hewlett-Packard kept its first position on the Slovak market of IT services in 2004 when its revenues amounted to $34.4 million (€28.4 million).
