DUTCH-SWEDISH Kendrion-Ferrex, the producer of equipment for Volvo and Scania trucks, officially opened its new plant in the northern Slovak town of Čadca on June 15, the TASR news wire reported.

"The plant employs 25 people at the moment, but we want to give jobs to 50 to 70 people by the end of the year, and a further 250 to 300 people within the next two years," said Čadca plant president Tibor Kvasňovský.

Among the reasons that attracted the investor to Čadca was its proximity to the Czech Republic and Poland, as well as the Korean carmaker Hyundai/KIA, which is building its new plant near Žilina.
