KIA infrastructure development starts

ARCHAEOLOGICAL excavation, which is part of the first phase of the infrastructure development for the new plant of Kia Motors Slovakia and Hyundai Mobis Slovakia, started on May 23 in Teplička nad Váhom, close to Žilina.

Žilina Mayor Ján Slota expressed his opinion that the land acquisition of 170 hectares of plots for the infrastructure will be settled soon. Onlz 30 percent of the land has been acquired so far.

According to the Pravda daily, however, several landowners are refusing to sell the land needed for infrastructure development.

Some landowners said that they would only sell their plots if the cabinet pays them the difference between Sk140 per square metre, which is the price they received for the their plots, and Sk350 per square metre, which is the amount the cabinet conceded to pay to a other landowners.
