PRICES for natural gas and electricity will increase as of the new year, although the hike will not be as high as was expected.
Natural gas will be three times more expensive, while electricity will go up by nine percent, the energy price regulator (RÚ) decided.
The new prices already include the increased VAT, which will rise from 14 percent to 19 percent, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.
The expenses for an average apartment will thus increase by Sk330 (€8) a month. Those living in houses with gas heating will pay about Sk1,000 (€24) more per month.
