The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS), as of January 1, 2006, will carry out the supervision of the financial markets.
According to the approved revision to the law on financial market supervision, the National Bank of Slovakia will oversee the banking, capital and insurance markets, and entities in the capitalization pillar of the mandatory pension security, as well as financial market regulation.
Supervision of the capital markets and insurance sector is at present conducted by the Financial Market Authority.
