IN MARCH 2005 Slovakia's central bank (NBS) reported a cumulative profit of Sk6.2 billion (€159 million), while it registered a deficit of Sk7.9 billion at the end of February, the TASR news agency wrote.
For March alone, the NBS posted a profit of Sk14.1 billion (€360 million). The bank's economic situation was affected by the depreciation of the crown, which in March went down by 2.51 percent and 4.29 percent against the euro and the US dollar, respectively.
