TRANSPORT Minister Ján Figeľ has appointed new chairmen of the board of directors of two state-run joint-stock companies within his department, effective from September 20.
The head of the National Highway Company (NDS) is Alan Sitár, who will also serve as director general. He replaces Igor Choma, whom the transport minister recalled in July.
The new head of the highway company is one of the founders of the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO). Before his appointment he provided consulting to foreign investors via the company Capital Partners Consulting.
The new head of the board of directors of the ports administration company Verejné Prístavy is Juraj Pavelka, who succeeds Dušan Knap. He has long been involved in water transport. In the past, he served as director general of the companies Československá Plavba Dunajská and Československá Plavba Labská.
