CONSTRUCTION work on an industrial and technological park were launched in Trnava on November 30. The municipality of Trnava received a subsidy for the project from the Slovak Agency for Development of Trade and Investments (SARIO) equalling 95 percent of eligible expenditures, which translates into nearly €9.59 million, the SITA newswire reported.
The expenditures should total more than €10.4 million. Construction should be completed in September 2011 and the park should open in January 2012.
The mayor of Trnava, Štefan Bošnák, believes that the industrial and technology park will provide an opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to create jobs for people with higher education. The park is expected to provide jobs to around 450 people, mostly high-skilled.
According to Bošnák cooperation is planned between the park and the centres of excellence of the Material and Technological Faculty of Slovak Technical University in Trnava. This is a pilot project in Slovakia as its concept focuses on drawing investments in research and development of construction and prototype materials, SITA wrote.
