News websites among most visited

IN FEBRUARY, internet users from Slovakia visited websites in the category of news (2.4 million page views) the most, followed by services, maps, traffic (2 million). Once again, though, social networks ended with by far the highest number of page views, more than 500 million, based on the AIMonitor carried out by Gemius company in cooperation with the Mediaserch company, the TASR newswire reported.

Nearly 4 million real users visited websites, which have joined the research, in February. Out of the users 3.1 million were from Slovakia and the total page views exceeded 1.8 billion. The number of users visiting websites from mobile devices reached 1.1 million while 915,000 of them originated from Slovakia. The Slovak online population boosted by 27,000 to over 3.3 million users.

The number of mobile page views generated by Slovak internet users reached 511 million. Most of them were conducted, as was the case on classic PCs, on social networks. Mobile page views make up more than one half of all page views at these portals.

Demographically, 20-29 and 30-39-year olds make up the most frequent users, accounting for nearly half of the total online population (48 percent). However, 30-39 year olds generate the most page views, nearly one-third. Almost 40 percent of the internet users have completed the secondary education and more than 20 percent have university or higher education.
