The participating cities and towns in 2012 will be Bratislava, Galanta, Sereď, Košice, Žilina, Partizánske, Trenčín, Hlohovec, Šaľa and Spišská Nová Ves.

Besides cleaning parks, cycling routes and renewing playgrounds or working on the reconstruction of castle ruins, Pontis will again organise activities dedicated to helping seniors as part of the European Year for Active Ageing.

Last year volunteers taught seniors how to browse the internet.

The foundation has also prepared a special type of activity for those who are more adventurous.
“A bus will take them to an unknown place,” said Lucia Borovská, a programme coordinator at Pontis. “The volunteers are going to find out what activity they will be doing right on the spot. Without doubt it will be a very uncommon activity, delivering a good feeling from a job well done.”
