How would you characterise your company for The Slovak Spectator readers?
We are a local law firm. We have operated in the law market for 10 years already, comprised of experienced attorneys who gained experience abroad and after returning to Slovakia decided to build their own firm. In rankings of law companies, we usually take the top positions. We offer complex consultancy to entrepreneurs within commercial law – not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic.
Which specific areas would you stress among all the fields of the law practice?
What distinguishes us form other law firms is our exceptional experience in labour law. In this field, we are usually a highly appraised firm on both the local and international level. This is confirmed by our membership in Ius Laboris.
You are the only law firm in Slovakia which is a member of the international network Ius Laboris. How would you describe the path that has led you there?
It was our previous work that put us into the spotlight of Ius Laboris which needed to find a representative in Slovakia This international association accepts only exclusive representatives from individual countries which have proven extraordinary knowledge and specialisation in labour law..
What does the membership in Ius Laboris oblige you to?
Ius Laboris is a guarantee that a client gets top/premium law service from its member, while also fulfilling all international standards on the operation of law firms. Our membership in Ius Laboris binds us to keep these high standards. How does your law firm perceive recent legislative changes of the Labour Code or changes in the tax and salary regulations?
The current labour-law regulations are, alas, reactionary. Through an undue effort to protect employees in the wrong places, they cause stagnation on the labour market. The duty to pay vast severance pay after termination of employment and the burden of social and health levies de-motivate employers to create new jobs.
