Pankl to move production from Austria

AUSTRIAN company Pankl Automotive has announced plans to construct a new plant in Topoľčany in western Slovakia's Nitra region.

Construction on the plant, which will manufacture car components for the car industry, is due to begin in June and is expected to be completed by September.

Pankl Automotive plans to employ 240 people working in three shifts. The investor has obtained land from the town of Topoľčany, which plans to create an industrial zone in the area.

According to information from Pankl Automotive management, the company plans to move production of piston rods from existing plants in the Austrian towns of Bruck an der Mur and Kapfenberg to Topoľčany.

The Topoľčany plant is expected to produce parts worth €4 million per year.
