Most people do not mind that shops close during the Easter holiday, but they plan to make large food stocks ahead of Easter. This stems from a survey the startup Prieskumy and the mobile operator Swan conducted with a new technology – via TV boxs. The pilot survey took place between March 20 and 25 on a sample of 609 respondents in all regions of Slovakia, informed Matúš Benčík from Danubiatel.
Based on survey results, most Slovaks do not mind that shops must stay closed during Easter holiday days, i.e. Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Up to 57.7 percent of respondents completely agree with the ban on sale and 17.9 percent rather agree than disagree. Only 4 percent of respondents are totally against it and 11.2 percent rather disagree than agree. There were no significant differences in opinions of men and women. Compared to the rest of the country, citizens of Bratislava and Košice Regions were a little bit more dissatisfied.
Slovaks are planning to prepare for shop closure by making proper stocks. Exactly 64.5 percent of respondents admit that they will buy food in advance and while they plan to buy more than usual, 31 percent do not plan to change their habits. Older respondents in particular plan to stock up beforehand.
The survey showed that not all types of stores are equally important for Slovaks. While open banks or shops with sports outfits were desired by almost none, most respondents would welcome open pharmacies during Easter holidays - 55.1 percent.
