Shareholders will decide whether to terminate air traffic, shut down the airport, and liquidate the company Letisko Piešťany at an extraordinary general meeting due in late November.

The financial situation of the company is bad, as it is currently able only to pay wages to its staffers, said the head of the supervisory board Remo Cicutto. The CEO of Letisko Piešťany has been instructed to report collective layoffs to the central Labour Office. Despite the adopted austerity measures, the company generates losses of some €30,000 per month, Cicutto said for the Sme daily on November 2.
