Police snag roulette cheat

A MAN who won at the roulette wheel in a gaming house in Vrútky ended up in the hands of the police. Žilina police spokesperson Jana Balogová told the media that a 27-year old Vietnamese national had unlawfully affected the operation of a roulette wheel so that the ball landed in fields of numbers and colours on which he had earlier bet, the SITA newswire wrote.

SITA wrote that the man had laid down bets of about €100 and had won as much as €1,515. But he did not enjoy his gain for long as shortly thereafter he was detained by the police. The erstwhile roulette expert has already been convicted in fast-tracked court proceedings and sentenced to two years in prison with one year's probation.

Another crime happened in a gaming house in Veľký Krtíš on January 24. An unknown duo of masked men threatened the staff with a gun and demanded money. The staff handed over €1,000 to the robbers.
