Poľnobanka distributes dividends

Shareholders of Poľnobanka Inc., Bratislava, a commercial bank, approved on June 19 the distribution of 1996 dividends worth 55.5 million Sk. The bank's total net income grew by 20 percent last year to 163 million Sk (205.5 million Sk according to international accounting standards). The volume of provided loans grew by 30 percent to 17 billion Sk. Its registered capital increased to 1.85 billion Sk, ranking Poľnobanka third among Slovak banks based on the volume of capital. The shareholders agreed with bond issues for this year and next year totaling 3 billion Sk, expected to help obtain long-term resources.
