Poprad airport to offer flights to Tirana and Tel Aviv

The airport expects to transport some 19,000 passengers this summer.

The Poprad-Tatry airport (Prešov Region) will offer new flights to the city of Tel Aviv in Israel and Albania’s capital Tirana during the summer season, the TASR newswire reported.

Flights from Israel will be operated by Italian airline NEOS in cooperation with company Diesenhaus. Aircraft with the capacity of 186 passengers will fly every Tuesday until August 30.

Flights to Tirana will be secured by Adria Airways in cooperation with travel agency Albania Travel. The CRJ-900 aircraft has a capacity of 86 passengers.

“Around 17,000 passengers were transported by the airport in the summer of 2015,” said Ivan Hečko of the Poprad-Tatry airport, as quoted by TASR. “This year we’d like to increase the figure by 2,000 people.”

Popular flights from Poprad-Tatry airport in the summer include flights to Burgas (Bulgaria), Antalya (Turkey) and Araxos (Greece).
