Postage costs to go up in June

Postage for letters, the most important regulated group of products within the universal postal services, will increase in cost by about 9 percent in June 2009.

Postage for letters, the most important regulated group of products within the universal postal services, will increase in cost by about 9 percent in June 2009.

Prices of packages in various weight categories will increase between 12 and 24 percent.

The proposed price of a 1st class letter up to 50 grams will be €0.60 and €0.70 for up to 100 grams.

A registered 1st class letter will be €1.20 for up to 50 grams and €1.30 for up to 100 grams.

2nd class letters will cost €0.40 for up to 50 grams and €0.50 for up to 100 grams and registered 2nd class letters will cost €1 and €1.10 for these weight categories.
