Postal rates to go up by 20 percent

On February 18, the government approved an increase in postal rates by 20 percent on average that will take effect on April 1. From that date, the price of sending a letter in Slovakia will increase from 3 Sk to 4 Sk, and the price for sending a postcard from 2 Sk to 3 Sk. The price of sending a package will increase as well. The increase should bring Slovak Post 609.4 million Sk in revenue this year. The last time postal rates wereincreased was in 1992.
