There are signs that last year’s attendance of 20,000 will be exceeded, Marcela Glevická from Profesia, the main organiser, told the TASR newswire. There are 1500 exhibitors, prospective employers and organisations from Slovakia and abroad in attendance.
The fair, which includes general and specialised zones, is intended for all those interested in finding a job. This year, a graduates’ zone targets young people. An ISIC or other identification document confirming student status is required to enter.
The employers, including automotive company Volkswagen, are offering trainee programmes and summer internships at the fair. Volkswagen, for instance, is seeking a 100 expert workers for its Slovak factories.
Special attention is paid to those who find it harder to get a job for various reasons. Non-profit organisations and civil activists have prepared workshops and lectures targeting vulnerable groups.
The fair is open until February 26 and the admission is free.
