A prosecutor has dropped charges against the former financial director of the gas company Slovenský plynárenský priemysel (SPP), Ivan M., in connection with possible fraud at the firm.
The case involves the alleged illegal signing of bills of exchange by the then-head of the company Ján Ducký. Ducký was murdered in January 1999, months after being removed from his post at SPP. Ivan M. has pled that in his actions he was simply following Ducký's orders.
