Q1 brings Sk300 million in foreign trade

SLOVAKIA's foreign trade ended the first quarter of 2004 with a deficit of Sk300 million (€7.4 million), which is Sk5.5 billion (€135.7 million) better than the figure from the previous year, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.

Goods worth Sk202.2 billion (€5 billion) were exported from Slovakia in the first three months of 2004, which marks an annual growth by 14.7 percent.

Imports grew by 11.2 percent year-on-year, reaching Sk202.5 billion (€5 billion).

The trade deficit in March reached Sk1.7 billion (€41.9 million), meeting the expectations of analysts.
