Regus, the British business centre firm, opened its first Slovak branch on March 24 in Bratislava. In 1998, Regus opened 70 new business centres and forecasted another 130 openings for 1999.

"We want to be apolitical, but I must say that the new political environment (in Slovakia) is inviting for businesses," said Regus Representative Marcela Kratochvílová.

Business Development Director Christian Meyer-Bogner added that although no immediate plans for additional Bratislava centres have been discussed, in the future he sees the Slovak capital as "a three-Regus-city."
