The Statistical Office has revised its previously issued data for retail sales, showing strong growth rather than stagnation in April and May this year, and bringing the figures in line with other indicators showing an improvement in the Slovak standard of living in 2001.
The Bratislava region has a living standard at the EU average. Some other regions of Slovakia have a living standard of less than 50% of the Union mean.
