MEDIA server Radioweb reported that Slovak Economy Minister Pavol Rusko lobbied for the private TV channel Markíza in the Czech Republic, the daily SME wrote.
The head of the Czech Telecommunication Office, David Stádník, said that Rusko, who is the former director and co-owner of Markíza, asked him to speed up the co-ordination of an analogue channel for the Slovak network.
Rusko insists that he simply called Stádník to get the latest information on the channel.
TV Markíza representatives deny asking Rusko to lobby for them. The network has only a Slovak broadcast license and thus cannot enter the Czech market.
