THE CABINET approved a proposal calling for a Samsung production, logistics, service and development centre near Galanta to be designated as a significant investment.
The decision does not entitle the firm to receive investment stimuli, but makes it possible to appropriate the respective site on the grounds of public interest, if necessary.
Currently, Samsung is drafting the second stage of its investment plans in Slovakia, which include the construction of the centre near Galanta. The investment will exceed Sk1 billion (€30 million) and should create 900 jobs, the TASR news agency wrote.
Samsung has so far invested Sk1.9 billion (€50.5 million) and created 2,200 jobs in Slovakia.
