THE ŠARIŠ brewery, a member of the SAB Miller-owned Plzeňský Prazdroj group, earned a net profit of Sk133.5 million (€3.3 million) in 2003, nearly a 22 percent increase year-on-year, the private news agency SITA reported.
The brewery sold 1.3 million hectolitres of beer in 2003, marking the highest figure in the company's history and a 4.3 percent increase over its 2002 sales.
Last year Šariš invested Sk240 million (€6 million) in the extension of its production capacities and this year it plans to invest another Sk460 million (€11.4 million) in filling equipment and a new boiler room to reduce energy and water consumption.
The brewery has 494 employees.
