SLOVAK power producer Slovenské elektrárne (SE) said it would challenge an order by a Vienna district court that SE cease operations at the Mochovce nuclear power plant or change its technical equipment, the SITA news agency reported.
According to the Vienna court, Mochovce threatens people's lives and health. The court issued its verdict following a complaint by Eva Glawischnig, deputy chairperson of the Austrian Green Party.
SE spokesman Dobroslav Dobák said that the Mochovce plant meets all international standards, and that its safety is supervised by the local Nuclear Supervision Office.
