SES Inc, an engineering company located in Tlmace, established the Slovak-Cuban joint venture SES Energo Caribe in Havana at the beginning of March with the aim to penetrate Latin American markets. In the first phase, it will reconstruct 15 cauldrons in Cuba, while longer-term the firm is expected to undertake projects in Brazil and Argentina. Last year, SES had 3.1 billion Sk in sales, 345 million Sk more than in 1995. It exported 1.7 billion Sk of products to its largest trading partner, the Czech Republic, in 1996, while this year, SES plans to export to Vietnam, Australia, Greece, Philippines, Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, and Germany.
