The alliance may rescue SkyEurope, which has been grappling with a lack of finances for some time now.

Flyholding and SkyEurope Holding, which own the companies, have agreed to cooperate on the use of airports in Italy, Romania and Bulgaria.

It is unknown at the moment whether the airlines will operate a joint winter schedule.

“The strategic alliance and partnership are a natural result of the existence of two airlines that have been functioning separately thus far, but with similar strategies and focus on markets in Central and Eastern European countries,” said Myair.com chief Carlo Bernini.

The companies have not ruled out a possible future acquisition.
