SLOVAK banks recorded a profit of Sk12.3 billion (€320 million) in the January to November period last year, a rise of Sk2 billion [€50 million] year-on-year, according to data published by Slovakia's national bank.
The banking sector's balance sheet rose for the period by Sk132 million (€3.4 million) to Sk1.126 trillion (€30 billion), with Sk294.2 billion (€7.6 billion) in loans extended and Sk666.3 billion (17.2 billion) in clients' deposits during the first 11 months of 2004, the TASR news agency reported.
The basic capital of the sector was Sk41.4 billion (€1.07 billion) at the end of November, and banking sector reserves represented Sk7.3 billion (€190 million).
