Slovak economy saw 8.3% growth in real prices

The Slovak economy grew by 8.3 percent in real prices last year, according to an estimate made by the Statistics Office, which increased its original estimate of GDP growth in Q4 2006 by 0.1 percentage points from the original 9.5 percent to 9.6 percent. In comparison with the same period in 2005, economic growth accelerated by 2.1 percentage points in the last three months of 2006. The Slovak economy generated a GDP of Sk438.8 billion in current prices in the last quarter of 2006.
