Slovak firms invested 3.4bn Sk abroad

The foreign investments of Slovak businesses at the end of 1996 were 3.4 billion Sk (1.7 billion Sk for 1996 alone) while foreign investments in Slovakia reached 33.7 billion Sk, the NBS reported. Last year, Slovak companies' money went mostly to trade, rubber, cellulose-paper, and gas sectors. Most of the investments were placed in the Czech Republic, Russia and Austria.
