FOR the ninth time, Slovak journalists and members of professional associations active in the fields of information technologies and telecommunications handed out the prestigious IT Awards for 2009 in mid October.
Peter Škodný, country managing director of Accenture in Slovakia, received the IT Personality award.
According to the jury, Škodný perfectly met the criteria for the category.
Accenture in Slovakia has opened a centre that provides clients across Europe with services to outsource company processes.
The jury also praised Škodný’s career-long commitment to actively and publicly pursuing ethical principles in business.
Anasoft APR became IT Company of 2009, with the jury praising in particular the company’s unique products, for example a solution designed for manufacturing companies engaged in assembly and production, a complex system for the administration of housing and non-housing premises, its processing of complaints via a web portal, as well as cooperation with universities.
In the category IT Project of 2009 the jury did not pick a winner, but granted three honorary acknowledgements to the projects Digital town Centire eFFICE 4 City, Follow Me and Be Secure by Digmia, and Modern European Elections by Disig, Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and the Youth Parliament in Prešov.
While the Centire project facilitates communication between citizens and public administration bodies via electronic communication, the objective of Digmia’s project is a safe, portable and affordable solution that will provide medical personnel at clinics with an easy-to-use system that ensures data security and easy administration.
The third project acknowledged was a simulation of the first electronic parliamentary elections in Slovakia.
