SOCIALLY disadvantaged citizens of Slovakia will not receive free food under the food aid scheme of the European Commission, after the EC excluded Slovakia from the scheme for 2013, the SITA newswire reported on October 9.
Slovakia failed to create suitable conditions to secure the safe, appropriate, and timely implementation of this programme next year, according to the spokesperson of the EC Representation in Slovakia, Ingrid Ludviková, as reported by SITA.
Slovakia will also have to return the deposit of €1.1 million that it received from the EC budget for this purpose.
