The airport situated in Nitra’s Janíkovce borough has become a customs area. This means planes coming from countries outside the European Union are able to land at the airport as of July 1. At the same time, planes flying to the countries outside the EU are now able to take off from there, the SITA newswire reported.
“The fact that the Nitra international airport has become a customs airport will be beneficial mostly for businesses and holidaymakers,” said Stanislav Pacher, spokesperson of the customs office in Nitra, which will be responsible for customs supervision at the airport, as quoted by SITA.
