THE CURRENT situation indicates that Slovakia will probably not manage to draw all money from EU funds allocated for the shortened 2004-2006 programming period.
Construction and Regional Development Minister Marian Janušek confirmed on September 18 that it will be good, in his words, if the country draws 90 percent by late 2008. Exact figures will be known in early 2009, the SITA newswire wrote.
As of the end of August, Slovakia had drawn Sk32.6 billion (€1.082 billion) from EU structural funds allocated for the 2004-2006 programming period. This accounts for 73.43 percent of the total, which amounts to Sk44.7 billion (€1.484 billion).
