IN 2001 Slovakia ranked 10th in cars produced per thousand inhabitants out of 51 countries around the world, according to an Economy Ministry report.
Production of cars and automotive components was worth Sk150.6 billion, with ministry experts forecasting a rise to Sk250 billion within several years. Auto industry firms invested Sk28.3 billion in Slovakia last year, an increase of 169 per cent compared to the year before.
