SLOVAKIA will receive at least Sk60 billion (€1.577 billion) a year from EU funds in the period from 2007 to 2013, according to Deputy Prime Minister Pál Csáky, the TASR news agency reported.

"The draft EU Financial Outlook for 2007 to 2013 also forecasts this sum, and Slovakia is trying to get an even higher amount," Csáky said.

The priority uses that Slovakia sets for the funds will be fixed in December, according to Csáky. "It appears that the competitiveness of our economy is already becoming a priority. Support for underdeveloped regions is another priority, as well as completing the development of infrastructure, science, research and education," Csáky said.
