SLOVAK envelope producer Eco-Invest, along with the German company Mayer-Kuvert, bought a stake in the bankrupt Dutch firm Van Stolk&Reese.
Eco-Invest and Mayer-Kuvert also entered the British Mekvale Envelopes, the Slovak daily SME wrote on February 11.
Eco-Invest owns stakes in the pulp and paper firm SCP Ružomberok and the Harmanec-Kuvert paper mill in the central Slovak town of Brezno.
"The entry into the Dutch firm is the initial phase of building one of the basic pillars of our business," Eco-Invest vice-president Miroslav Vajs said.
His company is now working on this year's business plan for the Dutch mill, which has an annual capacity that exceeds 2 billion envelopes.
